Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the position of the consultation room for collaboration of nursing in outpatient department of the circulatory system.<br> Method: After approval of the Ethics Committee, the data in this study were collected from medical records at 2 hospitals. The data included patient profiles and diagnoses, blood test and other reports, and the quantity of cooperating nursing.<br> Result: The study included 608 subjects, with a mean age of 58.1±10.7 (mean ± SD), 549 of whom (91.0%) had complicating diagnoses. A total of 228 subjects underwent electrocardiogram exams, and 126 subjects reported anxiety because of moving, while 228 subjects had blood tests, and 118 subjects reported anxiety because of moving in daily life. Seventy-three subjects underwent both electrocardiograms and blood tests. The quantity of cooperating nursing was 2.6±1.1.<br> Discussion: This study suggested that the consultation room for circulatory system should be next to the consultation room for outpatients with metabolic diseases, and both these rooms should be near the laboratories for electrocardiogram exams and blood tests.
