Description
Nihon University School of Dentistry at Matsudo Hospital decided on the first introduction of the dental electronic health record system as a dental hospital in Japan, and it had worked from April 1 2006, at the time of our new hospital completion. There are 17 dental departments, 3 medical departments and The Brain & Gnathofacial Function Center which is strengthened cooperation of medicine and dentistry in our hospital. We have 186 dental chair units and 33 beds, and there are about 700 outpatients per day. Our electronic health record system has HOPE/EGMAIN-EX by FUJITSU, LTD., as the core of its system, In charge of the introduction, the development concepts are the indispensable functions in the dental hospital.<br/> They are shown below.<br/> 1) The dental electronic health records and health treatment plan chart, they based on Problem Oriented System<br/> 2) The requirements for dentistry<br/> (1) Correspondence to the Dental Health Record Format Based on the Health Insurance Law<br/> (2) Establishment of Appointment Systems, such as Dental chair Unit, the Medical Staff (Dentist, Dental Hygienist), and Equipments<br/> (3) Construction of the System which Cooperated with Dental Technincs (Electronic health record, Direction and Distribution) <br/> (4) Upgrading input operability in the Oral Examination record<br/> 3) Information-sharing<br/> 4) Paperless and Filmless<br/> Two months after the introduction, we exceed the level of track record for the practice over the same month the previous year, and anxieties for the operation in stuff were almost canceled. However, many subjects which should be improved, such as the operability and the re-composition of master, are left behind.
