Description
We have recently presented a new and simple method to estimate the rate parameters of coal pyrolysis reactions using the so-called Distributed-Activation-Energy-Model (DAEM). Using the new DAEM, we analyzed the weight loss curves measured at three different heating rates under a vacuum, 0.1Mpa, and 5Mpa. It was found that the pyrolysis pressure apparently affects the rate parameters, the distribution of activation energy, f (E), and the frequency factor, k_0 (E). The effect was interestingly coal rank dependent. Based on these results discussion was made on a means to estimate true rate parameters of coal pyrolysis reactions.
