Abstract
Sata Ineko's Kurenai has been discussed by many critics including Nakano Shigeharu only as a novel that describes the independence of women. However, the novels connection to Ineko's change of thoughts has been overlooked. Analyzed here is the structure of Kurenai inserted for the first time in a magazine. By discussing her works during the time of the elevation of proletarian literature such as Wakare and Shinro, Sata's awareness of the change in thoughts is explained. Emphasis on Sata's confusion between the political concept of the masses and their Philosophical and ideological relationship to the importance of individual rights is presented.
