Description

Manji is a sort of polyphonic novel. Discourses in the story are different from each other because they are all dependent on hearsay evidence and every piece of information is manipulated or processed through each narrator's desire and self-interest. With the absence of any authoritative viewpoint, the story successfully presents the comical absurdity of human relations unsteadily supported by narrations from local viewpoints.
