抄録

This paper investigates the effect of reading and calculating ability on the performance of freshmen in introductory science courses. Using regression analysis, we analyze the examination results of students at the Osaka University of Health and Sport Sciences (OUHS) throughout their freshmen year. The results of the study can be used as basic data while developing the educational curriculum for students planning on enrolling in remedial courses at a university before their freshman year.
