Description
Improvements of the gasification efficiency and prevention of plugging of the reactor are problems to be overcome in supercritical water gasification technology. In this study, waste glycerol, the by-product of BDF production, is employed to circumvent the problems, expecting the following effects. First, KOH in waste glycerol functions as catalyst. Second, high viscosity of the glycerol restrains sedimentation. Third, increase of the organic matter concentration results in the increase of the quantity of gas product. The purpose of this study is to determine reaction kinetics in terms of the effect of waste glycerol addition to supercritical water gasification. Reaction rate parameters have been determined in terms of as catalyst effect of the OH^- concentration in the waste glycerol.
