Mice at the growing stage were subjected to forced exercises, which continued for many hours at a time and lasted a long period of time. They were examined for the state of growing during and after the period of forced exercises, so that the effect of these exercises might be clarified. In addition, studies were made to elucidate the effect of the vitamin B-complex (thiamine, vitamin B_6,pantothenic acid, pantethine) upon the process of growth of mice suffering from fatigue. As a result, recovery to growth, as well as growth itself, was inhibited in the mice both during and after the period of forced exercises. Administration of pantethine displayed a remarkable effect to improve the inhibited growth, while those of thiamine, vitamin B_6 or pantothenic acid were not so effective. Besides, forced exercises were imposed upon mice which were allowed to take only a limited amount of drinking water. After the period of exercises there was an increase in the amount of intake of water. When this increase, which had been brought about by the compensatory function, was induced to a noticeable extent, it was a little effective for the recovery of growth in the mice.
