Abstract
63% of waste Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is disposed of as landfill due to the production of hydrochloride. In a recycling process of waste PVC, neutralizing agents of the hydrochloride should be looked for from wastes. In our previous works, sodium contained in waste glass was the promising agent therefore a neutralization process of hydrochloride from PVC by sodium in waste glass was proposed. PVC char and sodium-removed glass obtained by the neutralization process can be used for a cement process as raw material and fuel. In this work, to discuss the process energy efficiency, a equipment for measuring neutralization heat of hydrochloride by sodium in glass was developed. The heat of reaction and the process efficiency were discussed.
