<p>Spent FCC catalyst is used for waste plastic liquefaction process. This study focused on iron and steel making slags consisting of silica and alumina. Iron and steel making slags consist of Calcium, Silicon and Aluminium. Silicon and Alminium are also dominant components of FCC catalyst. Slags were characterized by XRF, XRD, and SEM. A granulated blast furnace slag (GBF slag) was investigated as polyethylene and polyvinyl chloride liquefaction catalysis. GBF slag gave smaller molecule liquid products. However, liquid products consisted mainly of straight chain hydrocarbons which were similar to simple pyrolysis product. It was suggested that GBF slag promoted decomposition. The Chlorine from polyvinyl chloride was fixed by calcium in the slag.</p>
