Abstract

In 20th century, China was strongly influenced by western culture. In the art field, the traditional art was gradually crumbling and the discipline of art had been destroyed. The modernization on the Chinese traditional art started. Even though there is tendency to revive Chinese paintings, under the background of social transformation, the innovation of modern Chinese painting was the main stream. The modernization in Japan is the earliest in Asia. In the Middle of the Meiji, Tokyo Art School had been started, and the modernization in Art Education had been advanced, for example, bringing in western painting. Modernized Qing government introduced the modern school system in Japan, recruited Japanese teachers, including art education system and art teachers. In addition, many artists went to Japan for the art study. Therefore, to the innovation of modern Chinese painting, the influence from Japan is the most important. In this paper, On the basis of the advance research, I want to make the innovation of the modern Chinese painting with the role of the Japan and the relationship from Japan clear. And make a study on the modernization of Chinese painting.
