Abstract

Among international collaboration projects in school education, students and teachers use various online and offline communication tools such as e-mail, bulletin board systems, web pages, video conferences, and face to face communication. In this paper, we focused on an international collaboration project: Art Mile, in which students create a large mural about various cultures of a local area and global issues with distant students. As a result of analyzing monthly progression worksheets and reflection reports filled-out by the teachers, four different combinations of communication tools were found. Furthermore, a relationship between using communication tools and learning outcomes was clarified.
