We examine domain of human rights from the perspective of ecological problematique in the era of risk society. Ecologically framed human rights cannot be guaranteed by coercion of unrealistic nonanthropocentrism. We can suppose realistic domain of human rights in environmentally pragmatic solutions as attention for sustainability. Sectors of volunteers and NGOs should raise the perspectives of K. Polanyi's original definition of subsistence as a Luhmannian functional system. But points to be paid attention to are that coexistence of several ideal types for subsistence can make sustainability possible. A specific moral value cannot dominate risk society. Sectors of volunteers and NGOs advocate expand of domain of human rights on the basis of subsistence by means of instrumental application of laws.
