<p>　A systematic analysis on the achievement and distinguishing feature of Masaoka Shiki’s Chinese classical poems through the textual criticism and comparison of the versification and style between the Chinese classical poems written by Masaoka Shiki and by Natsume Soseki is carried out in this thesis. On this basis, Masaoka Shiki’s great artistic attainment in his scenery-describing poems is emphasized from the aspect of the intrinsic aesthetic standards existing in Chinese classical poetry. The reason and the profound significance of the fact that Masaoka Shiki had abandoned his Chinese classical poem writing and turned to tanka and haiku writing during his later stage is thoroughly studied, combined with the discussion of Masaoka Shiki’s sketch writing theory and his reformative propositions on haiku and tanka. Finally, Masaoka Shiki's pursuit of the succession and sublation of the realistic skill in transitional literature is explicitly explained.</p>
