- 405 Improvement of Annual Energy Consumption Prediction for GHP Air-conditioners

In this study, we propose a new method to predict the seasonal energy consumptions of GHP-type air-conditioners for business uses. In this method, the variations of COP against the outdoor air temperature and the indoor thermal load in a year (COP surfaces) are predicted based on the results of the partial thermal load performance tests made on eight conditions, and the seasonal energy consumptions and annual performance factor (APF) of the tested GHP are calculated based on those predicted COP surfaces. We have compared the accuracy of APF predicted by this method with that calculated by the method prescribed in JIS. It has been found that the errors of APF predicted by JIS are as larger as 30% - 60%, but those predicted by the present method are smaller than 8%. This suggests that the evaluation method proposed in this study is effective to improve the prediction accuracies of the seasonal energy consumptions of GHP.
