Abstract
The aim of this essay is to present a hypothesis based on Paul Ricoeur's "cycle of mimesis" theory, Maurice Merleau-Ponty's "style" theory and Henri Wallon's "development" theory, in order to examine the results of a pilot research on a creating experience of collage as an art. Its process can be considered a dialogue and interaction with others within the creator itself, where, while its physical activities produce art pieces, their styles represent the meanings of the pieces and lead the creator to self-understanding. I would like to show how creating art pieces in a classroom brings about the self-understanding of the creator.
