<p>This paper concerns with active vibration control of cascade-connected damped mass-spring systems at an intermediate layer by the wave control. In the previous work, wave analysis and control of cascade-connected damped mass-spring systems was proposed, where the wave controller is located at the boundary. We consider a wave controller located at an intermediate layer, which generates the control force to the mass of the layer by observing velocity of the mass. We first derive a recurrent formula of the system dynamics including the control force at the intermediate layer, and describe the system response by traveling waves. Properties of the propagation constants and the characteristic impedances are investigated. A numerical example shows effectiveness of the proposed method.</p>
