Abstract
As the earth-moving machinery is manufactured and sold globally, strategic participation in international standardization processes has become very important. Japan had representatives on ISO (International standard) committees to create better standards, and has been making new standards or proposals for revisions based on the Japanese antecedent technology, such as "Safety of Hybrid machinery". Basically, standards are not binding, but with reference to in a legal regulation, they will become obligation Thus, proactive standardization with other countries is critical. The Japanese manufactures join the efforts of the ISO training in developing countries, together with US and European manufactures, to encourage ISO adoption in developing countries. The Japanese manufactures will continue to contribute to enhance of product safety and environment-friendliness in the future.
