In previous studies, the authors compared electromyogram (EMG) of sternocleidomastoid (SCM) muscles of a passenger riding a high stiffness with a low stiffness car As the amplitude of the acceleration caused by the deflection of the car body of high stiffness car is smaller than the low stiffness car, less EMG appeared on the passenger of the high stiffness car Then in the study, effect of number of welding spots on stiffness of the car body is examined using electromyogram (EMG) of sternocleidomastoid (SCM) muscles Experiments using an actual car imply amplitude of the EMG increases as the number of welding spots decreases
