抄録

This paper deals with job shop scheduling in which the release times of jobs and operations sequence are determined simultaneously. A genetic algorithm incorporating priority rule is applied to meet due dates and minimize manufacturing lead time. In the genetic algorithm, backward scheduling is effectively used to minimize lead time. Numerical experiments show that the proposed method outperforms the methods using forward scheduling.
