Description
In our previous works, it was elucidated that the preferential diffusion effect played an important role in the turbulent burning velocity characteristics of hydrogen mixtures because of its high molecular diffusivity. In this study, the turbulent burning velocity and the effect of the preferential diffusion on turbulent burning velocity of lean hydrogen mixtures are investigated in more detail, by changing the laminar burning velocity 15 to 35cm/s and the equivalence ratioФ 0.9 to 0.3. The turbulent burning velocity at the same turbulence intensity shows to increase as Ф decreases up to about 0.5. That, however, does not show such increase when Ф is under about 0.5,regardless of the laminar burning velocity. From the estimate of mean local burning velocity taking the preferential diffusion effect into consideration, it is found that the mean local burning velocity tends to decrease as Ф becomes under about 0.5.
