Abstract
The boiler with a platy burner and a pre-mixed combustion method has a strong tendency with the extremely loud combustion driven noise. The frequency of noise depends on the resonance frequency determined by the path of combustion chamber. In order to realize a decrease of Nox and a miniaturization of a boiler, this kind of noise should be reduced as a necessary condition. In this paper, a reduction method for the combustion driven noise is proposed which employs the drawing effect of frequency caused by impressing an exciting sound source. The principle of this method is to shift the frequency of noise from a resonance frequency to the frequency of the exciting sound. The thermo-acoustic characteristics expected on an actual boiler have been verified by a simplified model. Since the proposed method has resulted the noise reduction of 30dB under the optimum condition, the validity of proposed method is confirmed.
