Abstract

Aplysia dactylomela feed on the young of Eisenia arborea, whose population increases in the spring season. Therefore, the author investigated the selection and amount of young E. arborea and different seaweeds consumed by A. dactylomela. A. dactylomela liked, in order, Ulva pertusa, Undaria pinnatifida, E. arborea, and Gelidium amansii. The amount of food consumed by 100g of A. dactylomela was 10.3w.w.g inv^<-1>・d^<-1>. (Ulva pertusa), 2.7w.w.g inv^<-1>・d^<-1> (Undaria pinnatifida), 0.7w.w.g inv^<-1>・d^<-1> (E. arborea), and 0.1w.w.g inv^<-1>・d^<-1> (G. amansii) at 15℃, and 3.7w.w.g inv^<-1>・d^<-1> (Ulva pertusa), 1.5w.w.g inv^<-1>・d^<-1> (Undaria pinnatifida), 0.8w.w.g inv^<-1>・d^<-1> (E. arborea), and 0.2w.w.g inv^<-1>・d^<-1>. (G. amansii) at 18℃. The amount of Ulva pertusa and Undaria pinnatifida consumed decreased with an increase in water temperature, but that of E. arborea and G. amansii increased. The author believes that young E. arborea were influenced by surrounding vegetation, the density of A. dactylomela, and the selection and amount of food consumed by A. dactylomela, and thought the measure.
