- OS1203 Evaluation of Micro-Strain in Stainless Steel by Fundamental Approach
説明
In order to make clear mechanism of fatigue fracture and improvement of fatigue strength by cavitation peening, micro-strain was evaluated by using a fundamental approach. In the previous reports, micro strain induced by heat treatment and/or mechanical finishing was decreased by cavitation peening. As the micro strain might be a source of fatigue crack, the decrease of the micro strain causes improvement of fatigue strength. In the present paper, the micro strain of stainless steel was measured by the fundamental approach, which was one X-ray diffraction method and normally used for the measurement of grain size and micro strain of nano-size powder. The micro strain before and after cavitation peening and the micro strain changing with fatigue cycles were investigated. It was revealed that the micro strain induced by grinding was decreased by cavitation peening. The micro strain was changing with fatigue cycles.
