Abstract
To investigate possibility of application of DLC hard coating to plastic forming die, tribo- characteristics are evaluated by strip-ironing type tribo-simulator. Tool materials are die steel (SKD11l) and HSS. Workpieces are High-strength steel and Brass. Friction coefficients are evaluated by comparison with die steel and CrN hard coating. A change of tribo-characteristics of DLC hard coating by the number of strip-ironing process is evaluated by friction coefficient, tool surface appearance and workpiece surface roughness.
