Description
If it's possible that TRIP steel with excellent strength and ductility apply to such as safety members in automobiles, an energy absorption characteristic of TRIP steel under higher deformation rate should be clarified. On the other hands, it's difficult to evaluate its energy absorption by the fracture toughness using pre-cracked specimen based on ASTM standard under impact loading because of its high ductility. In the previous study, the fracture toughness is evaluated by small punch test under quasi-static loading. By using small specimen, it might be possible to evaluate the fracture toughness under impact condition. In this study, first, rate sensitivity of TRIP steel by quasi-static and dynamic punch test with three-times larger puncher will be investigated. Then, the energy absorption of TRIP steel under different deflection rates by punch test will be discussed.
