Abstract
Rotordynamic fluid forces coupled with flow instabilities (i.e., impeller/diffuser rotating stall and rotating cavitation) in turbomachines were examined. Kuramoto's nonlinear model was applied to explain the synchronization of the whirling motion with the rotating flow instability.
