抄録

Thermal efficiency is very important in power plant. Improvement in thermal efficiency means that it becomes possible to generate more power at the same amount of heat. In this study, a combination of the nuclear power plant and OTEC (Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion) is proposed. The pressure of the condenser of the nuclear power plant is determined by the temperature of the cooling water. So, there is a method of utilizing the waste water from the OTEC as the cooling water. By doing so, the temperature and pressure of the condenser will be reduced, and thermal efficiency in the nuclear power plant will be improved. On the other hand, by directing the warm waste water from the nuclear power plant to a high temperature heat source of the OTEC, the temperature difference between the high and low heat source is expanded, and thermal efficiency in OTEC is also improved.
