Abstract
This paper proposes a diagnostic method of an aerated flow that causes significant flow measurement errors in Coriolis mass flowmeter. In order to diagnose the aerated flow at a water line with a Coriolis mass flowmeter, three factors: amplitudes of 2 sensor signals and the phase difference between them-are focused on. Through the experimental investigations, the following facts are derived: 1) Our proposed diagnostic index increases with the increase in the void fraction. 2) The diagnostic index is approximately 0 at the single-phase flow. These results show that this diagnostic index can distinguish the single-phase flow from the aerated flow.
