説明

A measuring system of radial cutting force of honing was developed to produce a high efficiency automatic in-feed internal honing machine. In this report, outline of the developed measuring system and a few measurements were discussed. The radial cutting force can be obtained from measured value of wedge thrust of honing operation. Piezo-electric force sensors were used to measure the wedge thrust. Cutting force ratio was estimated from values of tangential force and radial force of in-feed internal honing with CBN sticks. The force ratio of honing took a value between force ratios in general cutting and grinding.
