抄録

The purpose of this study is to confirm the performance of grinding coolant using alkaline water with plant ash. Cylindrical plunge grinding tests are carried out using alpinia zerumbet alkaline water and alpinia zerumbet alkali-reduced water as coolant. Alpinia zerumbet alkaline water by running tap water though the plant ash show high pH. Most effective alkaline coolant is brought out, comparing with surface roughness, grinding force and workpiece surface temperature. As a result, grinding performance using alpinia zerumbet alkaline water and alpinia zerumbet alkali-reduced water is better than that using tap water.
