抄録

As a gaseous fuel for a spark ignition engine, acetylene has the following characteristics, namely 1. limit of inflamability is wide, 2. carbon-hydrogen ratio is so large that the combustion gases have different thermodynamic properties compared with other fuels, 3. heat value is large and octane value is high. For the above reasons, it may be useful to calculate the thermodynamic properties and to draw the i-s diagrams of combustion gases of acetylene-air mixture. The values of internal energies and entropies of each component except argon, given by R.L. Hershey et al and J.H.Keenan, J.Kaye respectively were used in our calculations, and those of argon were calculated as a monatmic molecule. The combustion gases were treated as semi-perfect gases and the thermal dissociation was considered. The diagrams cover the following ranges, excess air factors : 0.8, 0.9 and 1.0, temperature : 600∼3000°K, pressure : 0.1∼200 ata, and specific volume : 0.04∼60m3/kg.
