Description
<p>Notched Archimedian helical screw propulsor which aims amphibian remotely-operated vehicle (ROV) for shallow area was developed. Conventional helical screw propulsor generate thrust force by shear stress on rotating blades and its thrust efficiency is very small. On contrary, the developed notched helical screw proplsor in which behaves small blade cascade, improves thrust efficiency under water. In this study, thrust performance was evaluated on several test fields. And the notched helical propulsor achieved 20% improvement on under water propulsion test.</p>
