- 3A1-L05 Single Cell Separation Device by Using Bioresist(Nano/Micro Manipulation System)

We propose a simple and low cost single cell separation device by using a thermoresponsive gel called "Bioresist". Proposed device is consist of a microheater and microhole pattern of Bioresist (Cell catcher), and it can be fabricated by a standard MEMS fabrication process. Cell catcher can shrink and swell by heating and cooling the medium, and hold a target cell when it swells. For single cell separation, only the device is needed and it is possible to realize single cell separation with very low initial cost. In this paper, we report feasibility study of single cell separation and dispense with proposed device. We succeeded in single cell separation with 90 % success rate and single cell dispense with 15 % success rate.
