Abstract
The authors have studied on the calculation of the underground air temperature, taking the variation in the intake air temperature into consideration, and have obtained the following results:<BR>The mean air temperature at any point underground is to be calculated under the assumption that the intake air temperature is constant and is equal to the mean atmospheric air temperature. The maximum or minimum temperature underground is obtained by adding or subtracting the product of the amplitude of the atmospheric air and the decrement to or from the mean air temperature. The damping of the hourly variation is more rapid than that of the seasonal variation, the decrement of which is given by Fig.5.
