抄録

In this work, we intended to study on the oxidation of pyrrhotite in aqueous suspensions in the pressurized oxygen atmosphere, and obtained the following results.<BR>(1) The main mechanism of this oxidation reaction can be shown by the following chemical equation.<BR>2FeSn+3/202→Fe2O3+2nS 1 <n<1.12<BR>Therefore, the main products of this reaction are elementary sulphur and ferric oxide.<BR>(2) Among the sulphide minerals which are associated with pyrrhotite, pentlandite can be easily oxidized, and zincblend, which is dispersed in pyrrhotite, shows similar properties. Chalcopyrite is oxidized to some extent. At the best condition, e. g. 110°C, 20kg/cm2 PO2 and 600rpm, more than 95% of pyrrhotite and pentlandite are easily oxidized and only 20% of chalcopyrite is dissolved in the solution.<BR>(3) The oxides, produced by the above reaction, are almost completely separated from the sulphide residue, and elementary sulphur is coagulated into small nodules including the residue, if the temperature of the autoclave contents is risen just above the melting point of sulphur after reaction ceased.
