Abstract

For the exploration and prospecting of the Ningyo-toge uranium deposits, the most efficient and effective methods, such as the geophysical prospecting, geochemical prospecting, and prospecting by drilling have been newly studied, considering the characteristics of the deposits.<BR>Among them, the application of the seismic prospecting method is the most remarkable one, which isproved fairly successful by the drilling operation following the seismic prospecting and can be said to attain almost its aim.<BR>Probably, there is no precedent in the foreign countries for applying the seismic prospecting method to the uranium prospecting on a full scale. It is because the Ningyo-toge deposits have the rule of so-called chennel structural control, that is, the deposits occur in the basal parts of the Neogene formation sedimented on the depression of the granite basements and bear the characteristic trait not having its equal in the world that Japan could give the lead to the world in applying this method.<BR>The applications of the electrical prospecting method and the ioint use of the electrical and geochemical prospecting method as well as the seismic prospecting method are devised, making the good use of the characteristics of the Ningyo-toge deposits. Also, the similar special considerations are given to the geochemical prospecting for the research of the tributary water and soil.<BR>Concerning the prospecting by drilling, the very positive operations have been conducted in order to grasp rapidly the potentiality of the new mineral resourses, uranium, and especially the radioactive logging is most utilized, which is the characteristics of the explorations of the uranium deposits
