Description
The deposit of Taro mine belongs to cupriferous pyrite type ore or, so called, Kieslager type in paleozoic phyllite.<BR>The two different types of mining method adopted here are the caving method and the timbered horizontal cut-and-fill method.<BR>The caving method has been used ever since Taro mine was first developed, but recently it is used only in the old stopes where it was previously mined by caving method, to recover pillars.<BR>In some of the small deposits with less older stopes in the lower levels, timbered horizontal cut-and-fill method is carried out.
