In the process of tungsten chemical refining, Mo impurities such as powellite in scheelite-concentrates have been removed as MoS3. Practically these MoS3-precipitates occlude unnegligible amounts of W03. So the author tried to recover separately W and Mo of these precipitates and found “autocrave-sodium polysulphide process” was effective for the separation of them. At first W and Mo components in the precipitates were converted to sodium salts and then digested with Na2Sx in autocrave. Then Mo remained as sodium thiomolybdate in sodium extracts and could be recovered as Mo-sulphide precipitate by the follwing pH control of the solution. While W could be recovered as CaWO4 by the reaction with Ca (OH) 2 from sodium extracts. Resulted Mo products were very pure and W products contained a little Mo.
