Abstract
Nakajo gas field is one of the largest gas fields in Japan. The exploration of this region was commenced in 1956 for the development of dissolved-in-water type gas, subsequently leading to the discovery of gas condensate reservoirs and of stratigraphical traps of dry gas. By the collaborated Works of gravity, survey, seiomic survey and development of dissolved-in-water type gas, the free gas reservoirs were discovered.<BR>The present paper discusses the general outlines of geologic structure and stratigraphy of this region as well as of gas reservoirs. It also describes the improvements of the production methods from the early stage of the development to the present time.
