抄録

The objective of this study is to clarify substantial cause of recent slump in electronics business at Sony Corporation. This study hypothesizes the slump originates from customer and Sony's employee losing their traditional consensus to Sony's business domain due to introduction of management policy stated as "Regeneration". Consequently, this study focuses on three relative aspects for its analysis. The first analysis is to clarify the difference in managerial sense of values between founding spirit and regeneration management. Secondly, difference of the objectives in growth strategy is demonstrated through comparison of product development consisted of Trinitron TV, Liquid Crystal TV, and QUALIA series. The third analysis is made to clarify the transition how regeneration management defines Sony's future corporate vision. In conclusion, this study demonstrates that managerial philosophy in "Regeneration" is substantially apart from founding spirit and it leads to an absence of innovative new product between 2001 and 2005.
