- 4411 Heat flow analysis of a Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) module

Generation performance of SOFC module strongly takes influence of temperature distribution, so that the highly precise prediction technique of the heat transfer and fluid flow analysis by numerical method is indispensable for the SOFC modularization design. In this study, the numerical analysis of thermo-fluid dynamics in SOFC sub-module was carried out, which considered the radiation heat transfer among cells, the convection heat transfer and electrochemical/reforming reaction. The analysis result accorded with the operation data well, and showed the effectiveness of the prediction model. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has been commissioned to a new national project "Development of SOFC-Gas Turbine Combined Cycle System with Tubular Type Cell" by New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO). 200kW class SOFC-micro gas turbine combined cycle system will be operated in 2007. This study contents are parts of the project.
