Description
This paper describes the way to apply the piezoelectric elements for the vibration suppression of actual railway vehicle carbody. To suppress the bending vibration of the carbody, the amount of electrical energy generated by piezoelectric elements should be increased. We designed several kinds of removable piezoelectric dampers. Afterwards, we carried out the excitation tests by putting the dampers to the carbody. From the experiment results, the most effective damper for the vibration suppression was identified by evaluating the voltage generated by each piezoelectric damper.
