Abstract

Authors studied on the change of body build and factor loading on some functions of seamen between two groups ; downwards of 29 (A Group) and the upwards (B Group). And explained the difference in loading proportion of body height, weight and girth of chest on each function and the motor capacity index. The results obtained were as follows: 1. As to body height, weight and girth of chest, seamen were somewhat superior, but in function ability they were inferior to the average. 2. Endomorphy-type was observed more distinct in B Group than A. 3. Three evident common factors were drawn by Thurston's centroid method. 4. Difference betwecn A and B was recognized in factor loading on each item. 5. Increase of girth of chest has plus influence but that of body weight has minus influence on the motor capacity index. The former influence was much in A than B and the latter was much in B than A.
