抄録

An analysis is made on informations obtainable from "Look-out", concerning to preventions of ship's collisions. The measure of expectations of the collisions is defined and presented as a function of the distance and the azimuth of the other ship in the form of A(1+cos2θ)/R. The form of this function suggests the look-out by human eyes to be superior to the Radar look-out.
