Abstract
Polyethylene rope is an artificial fibre producted by chemical process and it is much surperior in most respects to any cordages made from vegitable fibres. On the other hand, its properties have some weak points on stretch, friction and heat. Then we had made an actual test for its usage. From the results of test, the following points were clearified. 1. Splicing should made by more than 4 tucks. 2. The length of rope can be stretched nearly by 50 percent. 3. We obtained the coefficient of friction between 0.143-0.245.
