- Conparison of the N-Terminal Sequences of Three Glutaminases from Bacillus subtilis
Description
Three glutaminases [EC 3. 5. 1. 2] from different Bacillus subtilis strains which were effective in high salt concentration environment such as miso were purified by ion-exchange, hydrophobic and gel filtration chromatographies. The enzymes were composed of two subunits with different mass, and they were estimated to be about 42kDa and 22 kDa by SDS-PAGE. After electro-blotted onto PVDF membrane, N-terminal sequences were revealed by automatic sequencing that they were homologous with that of γ-glutamyltranspeptidase [EC 2. 3. 2. 2].
