Abstract
Prototype tests were performed on an electronically controlled, hydraulically activated, fuel injection system with a new injector structure. this paper describes improvements in theoretical analysis and calculation methods concerning the injector. Simplified treatment was applied to this theoretical analysis, covering the solenoid pull force and determination of spring constant of the valve seat. Calculation accuracy was improved in consequence of a study of the calculation interval in the calculation methods. As a results of calculations under various conditions, the equations and the calculation methods are judged to be suitable, since the calculation time is short and no divergence takes place. Thus, research into and improvement of new injector structures became easier. The next paper will describe the results of the calculations and tests.
