Abstract

We would like to re-analyze the theory of "Irogonomi" since ORIKUCHI Shinobu in order to establish a new study : it's the literary history about hunts practiced by noble spieces. In texts of the ancient Letters before the Tale of GENJI, scenes of noble spieces' hunts and those of "Irogonomi" are narrated at the same time. These two scenes have a common phase noble spieces govern <<Kunitama>> of the land. From this point of view, we analize these scenes described in the Tale of GENJI's chapters 「Matsukaze」「Tokonatsu」and 「Fujinouraha」, where we can find the relationship between Hikaru Genji and elements of hunt (in a general sense).
