説明

We propose a new type of solid state electronic device with an operation principle similar to the electron beam biprism in vacuum. This device can primarily be used for studying the basic wave nature of hot electrons and in particular the wavefront spread. A simple theoretical analysis of the device is performed and the results display an interference pattern with regular spacings, which is the main characteristic of an electron beam biprism in vacuum. This result indicates that, in principle, the interference phenomena of hot electrons caused by biprism effects in solid state devices can be observed.
